Luton Support Want Keeper To Be Given A Chance

Following the fine 3-0 win, over Blackpool in atrocious conditions, a common theme appeared on the social media sites.

It was something we, here at Vital Luton Town, picked up on in the following article – jones-has-a-difficult-decision-to-make – where we discussed the possibility of James Shea having done enough in his two recent displays to suggest he might well be preferred to Simon Sluga if both are fit for the crucial fixture against Fulham this weekend.

In fact, it was too good an opportunity to miss when it comes to one of our polls, with the simple question being:

Who Should Start v Fulham?

With a significant number of votes cast, the opinion of those who voted, 84%, edges towards Nathan Jones selecting Shea, who has kept two clean sheets in the two appearances he has been called upon to make.

The situation is also something that Nathan Jones has acknowledged, with the gaffer quoted as having remarked by Luton Today about Shea:

“I’m really proud of him and it’s not just the matches, it’s what he does every day.

“He’s patient, he’s always ready, trains so, so well and when he’s called upon he never lets you down.

“He’s staked an absolute claim to stay in the side, he was a bit harsh to come out last week, but he’s had two clean sheets and that’s all you can ask for.”

But I’m not too sure Jones will drop Shea, when both he and Sluga are fit, but we can only wait and see.

Please feel free to have your say on the subject matter in the comment facility beneath this article.
