This Saturday, the Hatters welcome Fulham to Kenilworth Road, for a crucial Championship fixture.
Last season, Fulham were a Premier League team, hence we had no real opportunity to include them in our ongoing – They Played For Both – series as our paths were not to cross.
Ahead of the game this weekend, I’ve sat down and put together a starting XI, complete with substitute and manager, of those who have worn the shirts of both clubs.
My selection is shown below:
Goalkeeper – David Button
Defender – Alex Lawless
Defender – Alan Nielson
Defender – Stacey North
Defender – Richard Money
Midfield – Alan Slough
Midfield – Mark Pembridge
Midfield – John Ryan
Striker – Malcolm MacDonald
Striker – Vivian Busby
Striker – Vic Halom
Substitute – Tony Thorpe
Manager – Alec Stock
Can you name anyone that has been omitted but perhaps deserves to be included?
If so, simply drop a few words into the comment facility beneath this article.

Cauley Woodrow?
Good shout
You’ve forgotten Robert Wilson.
Good shout
I should also say that if Cauley Woodrow counts, then so does Elijah Adebayo. I have a feeling that neither played a conventional first team match for Fulham but I might be wrong.
Woodrow 54 league appearances for Fulham, 8 league goals
Cauley Woodrow played for both
Yes, you folks are right about Cauley Woodrow’s first team appearances for for Fulham but what I should’ve asked in my tentative post was whether he in fact made a first team appearance for Luton (I said Fulham)…I cannot recall one and I can’t see any record showing that he did. I’m pretty sure Elijah didn’t make a first appearance for Fulham although he played for them at various other levels. Being stubborn, that would mean that Elijah is still valid if Cauley is!!!
you are correct Cauley did not make a league appearance for Luton, and Elijah never made a league appearance for Fulham.
