Luton – Young Striker Continues To Impress

After going four Championship games without scoring, Elijah Adebayo would have been delighted to get back on the score sheet, at Bloomfield Road.

The 23-year-old, signed from Walsall back in the January 2021 transfer window, is still a work in progress, a striker learning his trade.

But there is no denying that he has come on leaps-and-bounds since signing for the Hatters and his progress continues to delight the Luton support.

His goal at Blackpool, a deft far post header that drifted into the opposite side of the goal, was his 9th of the Championship season and he looks more than capable of getting near to the 20-goal mark this season, a remarkable achievement for somebody who might, by some, be called a novice.

His performances have certainly been noticed by those who frequent social media, as the following posts show:

Next week, Fulham arrive at Kenilworth Road for a Championship fixture, as the top post reminds us, the Cottagers have their own outstanding striker, Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has netted 21 times already this season, a remarkable achievement. It will certainly be interesting to watch the duo in action and see who can make their mark on what should be a fascinating clash.

Morning mh, it would for me be a massive bonus if he got close to 20 goals you know my thinking on the subject. Jerome an micks work with him are showing in his play. But he will hit a flat spot an if he can play through it. That will tell us how good he really can become. Mitrovic is a championship player but not prem class but I will probably have a shekel or two on him sat to score as he has form against us!!!

If I’m honest I would say no class will out. But nothing this team does surprises me any more an we do play well usually against the big teams so we could surprise.

Hi all, this young man is showing us there is life after jc and let’s hope we can hold on to him for a few more seasons but the way he is going and if he hits 20 goals this season then I feel it’s going to be hard to hold on to him come the summer . As for Fulham well we own them a few goals which would be great if we could pull that off . Coyh

there are a few players that will be of interest to other richer clubs, lets see what happens. i am a big fan of elijah. if he keeps improving, he will command a big fee. if we are to go forward we will have to sell some players, like brentford have done. like it or not,its a fact. i hope to see a lot of good players coming through the ranks in the not to distant future/. we must give younger players a taste of first team football, there willbe undiscovered gems waiting to shine. keeping my fingers crossed for the future, will be happy to miss relegation as this league is so unforgiving.
