Weather wise it was awful. Form wise there was not a lot to hope for, but that doesn’t stop the Hatters travelling army.
Back in May, when Blackpool celebrated promotion back to the Championship, I am sure many Luton supporters were, when the fixtures came out for the 2021/2022 season, keen to note what day they would be venturing north.
Many, like me, would have been hoping for an early fixture, sometime in August or September, to make the trip north.
After all, who wouldn’t like to spend a weekend at the coastal resort enjoying the treats the resort has to offer.
Little did we know that when the fixture was scheduled for December, those trekking north would face as Nathan Jones put it ‘apocalyptic’ weather!
Yes, it was that bad, even ducks would have chosen to venture elsewhere!
Therefore, the 1,391 Luton supporters that made the long trek north deserve to be lavished with praise, their support and vociferous chanting spurred the side on and received the following accolade from a former Hatter, Mike Saxby:
Long may that loyal support continue.
