Luton – It Is Decision Time – Elliot Thorpe

For the sixth in our short series, the focus falls on another of the Hatters squad who has spent time out on loan this season.

After already taking a look at the future careers of Carlos Mendes Gomes, Harry Isted, Admiral Muskwe, Dion Pereira and Matt Macey and John McAtee

it is now time for you to voice your thoughts on the future of Elliot Thorpe.

Thorpe signed for the Hatters back in September 2021 after being on the books of Tottenham Hotspur.

A midfielder, Thorpe has seen his first team action, since joining the Hatters, reduced to just two FA Cup appearances.

Earlier this season, he spent time on loan at Burton Albion but was recalled in January after a lack of first team action.

May thought another loan spell might be forthcoming, but it never materialised, and Thorpe has been left to ponder over where his next opportunity for first team action might be coming from.

Which brings me round nicely to the usual poll in this series:

My view is that Thorpe could be one of those moving on this summer with his career having, somewhat, stagnated, since joining the Hatters.

But is that an opinion you share?

The Burton loan even more worrying than our handling of him. Couldn’t even make the bench at all and forgotten in a lower league completely.
Since coming back has made the bench once for us but disappeared again.
Seemed to be hard working and creative with good delivery which is the mold we are trying to replicate across the pitch so where is it going wrong?
Can see him leaving to achieve his ambitions.

seems that we could make a full team out of our players that find themselves in a strange limbo, stuck in a no mans land. i would rather they were moved on to somewhere they could play, and be appreciated. it annoys supporters to see talent being wasted, sometimes for years. living in hope.COYH.
