Unwanted Luton Midfielder Could Be Heading North

Yesterday, the Hatters hierarchy released details of which players would not be required next season.

As covered by Vital Luton Town – luton-release-list-of-those-set-to-leave – One of the names on the list was that of George Moncur.

Although it was suspected that Moncur’s name was on the list it still came as a bit of a shock.

However, according to The Hull Daily Mail, it appears that Moncur could be heading north.

With speculation increasing – luton-on-verge-of-signing-defender – that the out-of-contract Hull defender, Reece Burke, could be joining Luton, it appears that Moncur could be heading in the opposite direction.

Although everything is still at the speculative stage, it would be great to see Moncur remain a Championship player and find out if he, given the chance on a regular basis, can perform consistently at this level, something Nathan Jones does, it would seem, not.

Here at Vital Luton Town, we will endeavour to keep abreast of the situation.

I am gutted. Moncur has averaged a goal every 6 games from midfield, with many appearances as a sub. If I had heard we were signing such a prolific midfielder this season, I would have been proper chuffed, but yet we let him go!!!
Don’t get me wrong, in NJ we trust, but this might end up being a rare mistake that bites us!

NJ is still learning his trade at Luton. I hope he learns quickly – he must drop his favouritism for some players that dont perform week in week out e.g. Pelly and Rea and Tunnicliffe. I agree with Cranie being offered a new contract as he can cover most positions at the back

Pity to see the both of them to go but we have to move forward . Hope they both stay in the championship and get more playing time. Nj most know what he is doing but they both didn’t get much of a run in the team , just hope they don’t come back and show us what we are missing. As for jw I would love to see someone of his talent at the club but it’s his injuries that is a worry maybe on pay was you play contact may suit all

    Shame, very sad

I find it incredible that we are getting rid of GM – I am really concerned about next season – you only have to see GM stats compared to say PRM on SofaScore to see who the better midfielder is. GM also has some Premiership Experience – I dont trust NJ that much any more – MH was a far better manager for us in NJ’s absence – NJ has a fault that he does not know when and how to bring on his game changers in a game.

Hi all, so Joe Morrell is saying his future lies elsewhere as he is not getting any game time. Then why didn’t nj get rid of him!!!! An keep moncs who’s way above Morrell class!!! In fact me an my mates call him the ferret just like a certain former luton player who was a criminal. He plays just like him wondering around midfield watching the play passing him by.
