It Is Burnley And Nottingham Forest For You

Following Everton’s fine win against Liverpool, in midweek, at Goodison Park, I ran a poll that was, subsequently, well-received.

With the three points almost guaranteeing Everton’s place in the Premier League next season, and with Sheffield United as good as down, I wanted to know who you thought would be joining them out of the three other teams battling for survival – Burnley, Luton Town and Nottingham Forest.

In our poll, there were three options to choose from:

• Burnley and Luton Town
• Burnley and Nottingham Forest
• Nottingham Forest and Luton Town

The result was conclusive with 69% of those that voted opting for Burnley and Nottingham Forest.

Now whether that was because they believed Burnley’s recent upturn in form has come too late and people have turned on Nottingham Forest after their incessant whinging following the VAR decisions that recently went against them, I’ll leave you to ponder over.

As for the remaining two options, 26% went for Burnley and Luton Town, mirroring the way the Premier league table stands now and the remaining 5% went for Luton Town and Nottingham Forest, obviously believing Burnley can pull off a miraculous escape.

But what I find interesting, regarding this poll, is that a majority of those that voted still firmly believe the Hatters can retain their Premier league status for at least another season.

Let’s hope they are correct!
