Yesterday, news broke that the legend that is Mick Harford, was facing a battle to overcome Prostate Cancer.
In our article, as suggested by Mick when the news broke – luton-legend-faces-cancer-battle – we urged those of the right age to take a test.
It is something that Mick, in a tweet on the official Luton site, has re-iterated:
I’m so touched by all the thoughtful sentiments. It doesn’t feel like I am facing this alone with your support Thank you all so much. Get tested lads. #COYH https://t.co/qIkjFjrZrt

Please take heed.
It has also been suggested, by the Vital Luton readership, that we do our bit to raise funds for research into this disease.
However, rather than set up a separate entity, my view is that we should support the excellent Sky Sports presenter, Jeff Stelling, on his annual quest to raise funds for research while also bringing to attention the threat this form of cancer brings to the male species.
