Luton – The Coventry Game Took The Honours In Our Poll

Last week, with an eye on keeping the front-page rolling, I ran an article I hoped would be straight forward.

The article – time-to-pick-your-best-day-ever-as-a-hatter – included a poll that asked you to pick what was your preference:

1 – The League Cup Final win against Arsenal.

or

2 – The Play-Off Final Win against Coventry City.

On reflection, it was a bit of an ambiguous question with, as many pointed out, numerous of those who attended the Coventry City fixture may not have been old enough to be at the Arsenal game.

Also, with just two options to choose from, many of our regulars nominated their own nominations, among them being the:

1 – Blackpool 6th round FA Cup replay in 1959

and

2 – Manchester City (a) in 1983

Now I wasn’t old enough to be at the 1959 game but the trip to Maine Road remains high up on my favourite game of all time, I can still see Raddy Antic drilling the ball home sparking monumental celebrations.

So, yes, I’ll admit it was something of a flawed poll, with not enough options considered, but over the years there have been so many games, involving Luton Town, that we’ve all witnessed.

But, for the record books, the Coventry City game secured 64% of the votes cast as opposed to the Arsenal game that captured 36% of the vote.

Thank you for your votes and also for the comments, they are greatly appreciated.

winning promotion is unbelievable, and absolutely fantastic for luton town, but for me , getting out of that conference nightmare was on par with promotion. it felt like being released from a ball and chain, always dragging you down. what a magical rise up all the tables, to the pinnacle, again. i use the word magical, because all the ingredients that we have seen added to the club, over years of struggle and heartache, have gelled so strongly together, has put us in this great position. long may it last.COYH.

This the first time in along while that I can remember fans and the board and the whole club being as one think you have to go back to the mid 80s to have this togetherness. We all have a moan about this player or another but we seem to be standing together and long may it continue no matter what happens next season .coyh
