Two weeks have almost passed since that wonderful day, at Wembley, saw the Hatters clinch a Premier League place.

Since that wonderful day, it is probably fair to say that there has been a definite buzz in the air, with the supporters still on cloud nine.

Just talking to people, I know, I’ve noticed that everyone has a smile on their faces, still trying to take in the magnitude of what happened two weeks ago.

But, sat in the local public house last night, the topic of what has been your best day as a Luton Town supporter became the hot topic of conversation.

At the end of the evening, we’d drilled all those special days down into two:

Wembley, 27th May 2023

and

Wembley, 24th April 1988

With a poll to vote in below:

Your Best Ever Luton Town Day Is?

Wembley, 27th May 2023

Wembley, 27th May 2023

Wembley, 24th April 1988

Wembley, 24th April 1988

It’ll certainly be interesting to see which of the two historical dates wins, I reckon it could be mighty close.

Or is there, for you, another day you’d classify as being your best day ever as a Luton Town supporter?

If so, please feel free to enlighten us in the comment facility beneath this article.

This all depends how old you are. As someone who has supported LTFC since 1965 – it will always be the 1988 final at Wembley. I have already seen Luton play in the top division and teams like Spurs, Man U, Man City, West Ham etc. I also remember Luton playing Arsenal one weekday evening at the Kenny when Bob Wilson played a blinder and I think the crowd was 29,000. I went to see LTFC play QPR as the first match ever on a plastic pitch and LTFC won. I have seen LTFC play against Dennis Law, George Best, Bobby Charlton, Trevor Francis, Tony Currie, Gary Lineker etc and remember when Terry Butcher had that really bad facial injury so many many good memories already

very true Peter, I can remember back to the mid-seventies when Barry Butlin scored, in the opening fixture, against Liverpool, the chaos on the terraces when London clubs came to town. I can also recall that first game on a plastic pitch away to QPR, both seem like yesterday. I yearn for the days when the Bobbers was a terrace, the Kenilworth Road used to be open air, the Oak Road stand was packed etc, I wonder how I’ll take to the Power Court Development when it is built. One random favourite memory has to be the own goal Keith Weller scored, from by the corner flag, when he played for Leicester City, a surreal moment.

1959 Blackpool. 6 round cup replay.

I agree with Peter, it really does depend on how old you are! I’ve been a Hatter since 1962 and that day at the old Wembley in 1988 was very special, as was two weeks ago!! I find it hard to choose the best game due to having so many matches to recall. One thing for sure, being a Hatter is the best!!

Both games were amazing, but our play off victory will ensure the club has a future for many years to come.

However, I was just as emotional at Maine Road when Super Raddy Antic scored our winner with just a few minutes to go in 1983. That secured our survival and sent Manchester City down to Division 2.
