Luton Town Linked With Championship Forward

I’ve been, on the writing front, inactive for a couple of days, the first day due to a lack of things to do and the second due to a painful medical appointment.

Today, I’m back at the helm, sourcing pieces of transfer speculation to keep you guessing.

The first piece I’ve stumbled upon relates to the possibility of adding another forward to the squad.

According to the Football League World, the Hatters are showing an interest in the Rotherham United forward, Chiedozie Ogbene.

The 26-year-old forward, a Republic of Ireland international, is out of contract shortly and is free to discuss his future with other clubs.

However, Luton Town are not the only club interested in obtaining his services with the East Anglian rivals, Norwich City and Ipswich Town, also being mooted as possible destinations for the forward.

Last season, while wearing the colours of Rotherham United, Ogbene scored 9 times and providing 4 assists in his 42 appearances in all competitions.

But the big question we should be asking ourselves is whether he’d be an improvement on the striking duo we currently operate with, Carlton Morris and Elijah Adebayo.

Personally, I’m not sure, his goal tally, last season, is respectable for a striker playing for a club fighting relegation, but is he ready to step up to play in the top-flight of English football?

I’ll reserve judgement on that.

As for my feelings on whether the deal will get done, on the usual scale of 1 to 10 where 10 is a certainty, I’ll opt for a 5 this time around.
