And the transfer window speculation is now starting to continue at quite a pace as we await the start of the 2023/2024 season.

Yesterday, here at Vital Luton Town, we covered the speculation linking the Hatters with a move for Ryan Mmaee, a Moroccan striker currently plying his trade in the Hungarian League.

However, the latest piece of transfer tittle-tattle concentrates on adding another defender to the squad.

Several news sources, including Football Insider 24/7 are of the inference that talks are underway to bring the Barnsley defender, Mads Andersen, to Kenilworth Road

Andersen, the Barnsley captain, is in the final year of his contract and, if talks go well, could be the latest to head down that familiar path trod by so many others between Oakwell and Kenilworth Road and vice-versa.

With Sonny Bradley having left Luton Town, the centre of the defence is something that could be boosted, especially if we continue to play a back three supported by wing backs.

Andersen, 25-years-of-age, Danish by birth, would be competing with the likes of Tom Lockyer, Reece Burke and Gabe Osho for one of those three central defender spots.

On our regular grading scale, I’m inclined to give this piece of transfer tittle-tattle a 7, even more so considering our history when it comes to trading with Barnsley.

But do you concur with my view, or would you beg to differ?

was wondering how many more players will be let go. how many contracts need to be sorted. bit of a balancing act at the moment. some of the names mentioned are at the end of there careers, but then thought of snodgrass and what a positive effect he brought with him. best of luck with the recruitment. I’ve said elsewhere that despite what most pundits and so callers experts say I don’t believe we need players with Premier League experience. There’s the famous Alan Hansen quote, “you win nothing with kids” What we need is players that can step up and a team collectively good enough it’s how we got promoted in the first place.
