Luton – Strikers Future Comes Under The Microscope

Last summer, Cauley Woodrow returned to the club where his career started, signing on the dotted line after a successful spell at Barnsley.

During his first spell, at Kenilworth Road, Cauley came through from the youth set up but never actually made an appearance for the Hatters in the league, being sold to Fulham for a significant fee.

Since leaving Kenilworth Road, Cauley has also played for Southend United (loan), Burton Albion (loan), Bristol City (loan), Barnsley (loan) and then Barnsley on a permanent basis.

It was while at Barnsley that Cauley had the most successful spell of his career, scoring 46 goals in 131 appearances.

Last season, in our colours Cauley made 27 league appearances scoring 2 goals, although it must be said a lot of those appearances were off the bench and his season was interrupted by injuries.

However, with Luton linked with several strikers in the transfer window –

Ryan Mmaee, Chuba Akpom and Chiedozie Ogbene, to name just three we’ve featured, I’m curious as to whether you feel Cauley has a future at Kenilworth Road this coming season.

Unless something sensational happens, I’m pretty sure that Rob Edwards will start with Carlton Morris and Elijah Adebayo, at 28-years-of-age, will Cauley be happy with a bit part role or does, in your opinion, a fully fit Cauley have a major role to play as we embark on our first ever season in the Premier League?

Pretty sure he played in the premier for Fulham as a youngster. So has experience of the level as for adebayo well I’m not sure about him at the level
Also Morris an Woodrow were very successful together but we have never tried them in a run together.
