This afternoon (Saturday), Luton Town crashed to a heavy defeat, at Kenilworth Road against Birmingham City, losing 5-0.
It was the first time in 59 games that Birmingham had scored more than 2 goals in a game.
Well, what can you say?
Personally, I am speechless.
Ahead of the game and based on the spirited performance the Hatters gave against Barnsley, at Oakwell, on Tuesday night, I had high hopes that Luton could make it two wins on the bounce and consolidate their position in the top eight of the Championship table.
But what is it about Birmingham based clubs that seem, now, to be our undoing, first West Bromwich Albion and now Birmingham City?
To put it bluntly, it was a shambolic ninety minutes.
Perhaps social media can unravel what was, ahead of the game, unthinkable.
In fact, it was that bad that I was not the only person who noticed some of the support sneaking out very early:

The beauty of football is that games come along thick and fast but, unfortunately, we have got a full week before we get the chance to show we can do better than this, but there again we could hardly do worse, could we?

This is what we expect from Birmingham we expect to be beating Luton this is the Birmingham of old we Bowyer in charge he knows the club he knows how we should be playing we have a good team a much stronger team than Luton. A lot off players luton have our Birmingham City castoffs and old now. Amari Bell Cameron Jerome both played for Birmingham more than 10 years ago. 🤣

Yes we are a championship club but with a championship club pushing for a top of finish and beating teams like looting is the way to do that beating them five nil is brilliant. And you would say the same if it was the other way around. Luton are hardly a championship club. And will get ditched back to league one eventually they will never be a premiership club least we have been there. What is it like loser.

Good attack, hard working defence but we need a decent MIDFIELD. The tactics were hit a long ball up to our forwards and hope. When the defence clear the ball it goes straight to the opposition midfield who just attack again. There’s no one shielding the defence and no one creating any play. I don’t think we put more than 3 passes together, it’s all just head tennis. Get a good midfield player in who can link up the play and connect the defence to attack. ( Another Kiernan Dewsbury Hall)
