Three weeks into the new 2021/2022 Championship season and the Hatters return to Kenilworth Road for their second home game of the season.

The Hatters opposition are Birmingham City, and the Luton support will be hoping that their side can produce a performance of similar stature that saw Peterborough United routed 3-0 in the first home game of the season.

The Hatters have started the season better, on paper, and the home support, according to our poll, are predicting a Luton win with 83% of those who voted choosing that option. Only 7% predict a Birmingham win with the remaining 10% going for the honours being shared.

So far this season, Nathan Jones has shuffled his pack for each game but after the fine 1-0 win, away to Barnsley, could the gaffer be tempted to start with the same XI?

With the kick-off almost upon us we are able to answer that question as we now bring you the teamsheets.

Starting with Luton Town:

Continuing with Birmingham City:

As for the officials:

Referee – John Busby
Assistant Referee – Mark Russell
Assistant Referee – Michael George
Fourth Official – Charles Breakspear

Three points this afternoon would set us up nicely for the weekend.

Rubbish team selection by nj. It will probably cost us!!!! An that’s no reflection on the players picked but how we need to face up to them. Will publicly appolagise to all posters if I’m wrong 😊

  • Alan says:

Can only assume lansbury is injured or caught the club bug…..

  • Chris winter says:

To lightweight up front. Won’t get many headers without Jerome. An juz will probably do us again

  • Alan says:

Let’s see how it goes boys…..don’t sharpen the knives just yet…lol…

  • Colin Logan says:

We will get beat no craft in midfield front 2 will not get a look in Nathan Jones has to take the blame for this if we lose

  • Alan says:

Blimey must be national doom and gloom day…..

  • Chris winter says:

It’s a bloody shambles rea for kioso never!!! Going 4 at the back. He’s lost without mh wanker

  • Alan says:

Been 2 down at half time before….and with big mick there…..don’t get the rea move but hey ho….

    • Mad Hatter says:

3-0 now, all feckin over 🙁

      • Chris winter says:

What did I say!!! Before the game. does Hart have nothing to say in this. Should say nj has this on his shoulders not the team. With has starting 11.

        • Mad Hatter says:

sadly you’ve been proved right Chris, why so many changes after Tuesday?

          • Chris winter says:

Sorry mate I don’t have a direct line to Nathan!!! But it goes to show without mick he’s not as good. This I won’t criticise the team for this is 100 % down to nj an team selection. Not the end of the world but he must start Jerome an lansbury if he’s fit? Against Sheffield. Very disappointed by this.

  • Chris winter says:

5-0at home what a disgrace. I didn’t see it being this bad. But I did say wrong team up front. Now what’s he going to do against Sheffield?

  • Alan says:

Chris you know it’s nothing to do with mick….players are big enough to know they have been given an opportunity to prove their worth and they haven’t…..none of them looked interested…..obviously something was wrong with lansbury, its not rocket science….I thought lockyer coming back would have improved things but if I were osho I would be well pissed off….all that step foot on there today need to take a good hard look at themselves…..move on to Saturday now and prove what they can do ….

    • Chris winter says:

Sorry Alan, on this we will disagree I said before the game he had gone with the wrong team. I was p roved right. If he started with Jerome what happened to lansbury I don’t know. Yes defence let us down but who knows if lansbury had played his calmness an nouse may have been the differance. Sorry this is down to nj today. No one else.

  • Alan says:

Didn’t say it wasn’t but you put the onus on mick not being there. What difference would it of made if so called professional players can’t do the basics….its always the same once the 11 go on the park they take responsibility…lansburymust be injured so the only other change from Tues was Jerome…..OK you take the credit for being proved right, but the the players all deserved to be dropped for next sat….useless and clueless again, mick or no mick….

    • Chris winter says:

Alan what I was trying to say is that mick is a big influence on nj he’s still learning. An when micks not there to advise nj gives a kneejerk reaction. Rea was not the player to replace kioso in my eyes. But that’s a matter of opinion. So that’s that. I don’t like being proved right it gives me no satisfaction. I would rather win a dire game 1-0 like I’m sure you would.. Its just so disappointing
