Luton Support Praise Striker Legend

Last night, down at Ashton Gate, a familiar face came to the Hatters rescue, equalising in stoppage time to give Luton a share of the spoils.

But while Danny Hylton gets the accolades for scoring is first Championship goal, it was not long ago that, here at Vital Luton Town, we were discussing his future.

Our article – the-danny-hylton-conundrum – carried the suggestion that Danny, if he were fit at the time, could well have left the club in the summer transfer window, but it also carried the inference, from Nathan Jones, that the striker could still do the club a service at this level.

Now, it remains to be seen just how frequently, when everyone is fit, Danny plays and how many goals he can score this season but give the lad credit where it is due.

Following the stoppage time equaliser, social media was alive with jubilant Luton supporters praising the striker:

He may be getting old, his best days may well be behind him but, like they say, never write off a natural goalscorer.

The question remains though, will he get any of the action on Saturday, against Swansea City, or will Nathan Jones revert to type?

Your thoughts on the subject matter would be greatly appreciated, please feel free to have your say in the comment facility beneath this article.

Like everyone I was pleased for Danny. But can he hack it in the championship. I said before the season started he would probably be sold. As injury an age we’re against him. But I was a fan of Jerome who is 3 yrs older than hylton as he was championship proven an could teach the younger players how to play in this league. Let’s not beat around the Bush it was a 1 yd tap into an empty net not a worldy. But it does give him the right to get his chance till Xmas. Then who knows?

Very proud of the team its a game I thought we should of won. Fair play to Hilton he got his goal hope he now gets some game time to prove people wrong

1 yard tap in, bit he was there to put it in….how many times have we seen the ball go across the 6 yard box and no one there finish it.. .

    • Mad Hatter says:

never knock a 1-yard tap in, i remember a European Cup Final, in Rotterdam, where Aston Villa’s Peter Withe had a one-yard tap in and just about managing it with his effort skewing off his boot and going in off the inside of the post πŸ™‚

Yes guys not disputing he had to be there to score. But how will he fare given 90 mins? An no disrespect he will give 110% but let’s see how he gets on if he is given his chance. Personally I think Jerome is a better option.

Well done Danny! He was a persistent pain for them from the moment he came on. Just like the Danny we all know. Always gave and still gives 100% . He’s up there for me with the icons and always excited our fans with his antics.
Well done to Nathan too for realising that a fit Danny Hylton has a lot to offer our club still.

prefer pereira to hylton, even chris could have scored that goal.hylton would be fantastic in league one,or two, just like he was for luton. got to get young players some time. if our defence was was at full strength,i think berry would have had a better game.he makes some clever passes.COYH. p.s. no disrespect to your footballing skills chris!!!!

    • Chris winter says:

No problem jimbo😊made me smile. The only player I know who would have missed it was Morrell thank god he’s gone. An even pompey fans are now wondering what they have got themselves

  • Alan says:
