Luton Support Backing Mpanzu This Coming Season

Earlier this week, Pelly Ruddock-Mpanzu ended any speculation relating to his future by putting pen-to-paper on a new deal at Kenilworth Road.

The news was greeted by our article – a-new-deal-but-will-it-be-plain-sailing – which also contained a pertinent question.

With Luton Town, this summer, having signed Henri Lansbury and Allan Campbell, to boost their midfield contingent, here at Vital Luton Town, we wanted your views on the following question:

New Deal But How May Championship Starts Will Pelly Make?

We gave you three options to choose from:

5 – 14
15 – 25

and

26 – 38

Despite the new signings and the fact that it is not unusual to read criticism of Pelly’s performance, it appears that the majority of those that chose to vote believe the player who has helped us climb back to the Championship from non-league football, has a major role to play this coming season.

A massive 44% believe that Pelly will start 26 – 38 games with another 44% believing he will start 15 – 25 games. Only 13% believe his starts will be limited opting for 5 – 14 starts.

Come May 2022, it will be interesting to revisit this article and see who was right.

My view is that Pelly will have to up his game and cut out those errors if he is to be a regular this season.

Morning mh, I think this season both ruddock an rea will both struggle to get a place in the team unless they up their game significantly. Rea for me was lutons biggest disappointment after three good seasons. His distribution was abject.

  • jimbo says:

agree totally with both of you. dont think that was a moan?COYH.

  • Chris winter says:

So interesting selection suspect some are still needing minutes. An interesting that another trialist among subs

Hi all , I like rea but I feel he does need to up his game In the coming season but I really hope pelly ups his game I like him alot , I also moan about his distribution but his drive from midfield is not in question but with new players around maybe he won’t feel it’s on him to do all the dirty work and can express himself as I feel there is a better player there. Also ifollow Luton are taking subscription for next season games so I think that’s the best way to watch the boys next season for £45 it’s good value .

Evening all I don’t know what anyone else thinks. But we are creating plenty but yet again it seems we can’t put the ball in the net against better opposition. I’m not moaning but it seems like the ball is just not running for us again.

    • Mad Hatter says:

Not sure Portsmouth are better opposition just a step up from those we’ve played so far, Brighton will be the acid test!

  • Alan says:

    Early doors…it’ll come….

  • jimbo says:

    • Chris winter says:

Hi boys no but we deserve more than we are getting in goals against better opposition. Also pelly had a very good game considering he hasn’t trained properly!!! For those who couldn’t get to the game

  • Alan says:

Thought the same chris, but didn’t like to say…lol…
