Luton – On The TV This Afternoon

Earlier today I published an article berating the fact that Sky Sports had neglected to choose a Luton fixture for live broadcast this August.

The article – disappointed-is-the-buzz-word – can be read via the link.

But, as if by magic, while flicking through the TV channels, just a minute ago, looking for something to entertain me later this evening, something immediately jumped out at me.

At 17:55, this afternoon, on ITV4 is the latest offering in THE BIG MATCH REVISITED series and one of the games featured, from October 1976, is none other than Luton v Southampton.

What an afternoon treat, so get settled, grab a beer and tune in and let us see how this one turned out!

No cheating and looking up the result beforehand!

    Hello Mad hatter

Was this a wind up did I really want to see Luton get thrashed by Southampton? Ok bit of a different way to score a goal by Luton. But what a let down after your big build up.

Bit disappointed with our display, wonder how many would make the team today.
I was thinking it was the time we put 7 or 8 past Peter Shilton, but I guess that was a bit later.

I wouldn’t have recommended the coverage if I had known we had lost so heavily but I didn’t want to look up the result.

In the QPR game I was impressed by Dave Thomas, what a winger, socks down by his ankles, riding the challenges.
