Luton – Praise Where Praise Is Due

I thought I would start the musings today by doing the decent thing and congratulating those who deserve praise.

On Monday night (cringe), Fulham secured the Championship title with an emphatic 7-0 (ouch) win over the Hatters.

Last night, Bournemouth, courtesy of a late goal, defeated Nottingham Forest, at the Vitality Stadium, to claim that second automatic promotion place and a return to the Premier League.

Sat here in the editorial chair, I’m sure you will join me in congratulating both clubs on their fine achievements.

In my opinion, both teams deserve promotion, over the course of the season they have been the best two sides in the Championship.

Others may argue that Nottingham Forest also deserved automatic promotion, but it should be remembered that, before Steve Cooper took over in September, they were struggling in the lower reaches.

Which goes to show that the Championship campaign is relentless, and you cannot afford a drop in standards at any time.

So, with the two automatic places decided, it just remains, to be decided, who will join Nottingham Forest and Huddersfield in the play-offs.

COYH’s, you can do it.

Totally agree Notts Forest are not in the same league as Fulham and Bournemouth, they will not go through in the play offs either in my opinion. Just not good enough – I think Huddersfield will get that third place. They have been very consistent all season and deserve to go up.
