As the Hatters were put to the sword, by a rampant Fulham last night, Nathan Jones looked a forlorn figure on the touchline.

It was one of those nights that occur, occasionally, in football and as Fulham peppered the net on a regular basis, declaring at 7-0, Nathan knew nothing he could do was going to have a serious impact.

But fair play to the gaffer, he didn’t shirk his post-match responsibilities and spoke to the media about what was a horror show.

Nathan, as reported by The BBC, had this to say.

Firstly, about Fulham, the gaffer is quoted as having remarked:

“It was a tough game to watch but they’re the best team in the league so congratulations to them.”

Well. I can’t argue with that conclusion, but continuing, Nathan spoke about the colossal amount of injuries the club has been hit with, further adding:

“We’ve got nine first-team injuries. What we have to do is make sure we dust ourselves off and make sure we’re ready to go at the weekend.”

Yes, we do, the significance of the game, this Saturday, cannot be emphasised enough, with Nathan summing it up as thus:

“It all boils down to one giant, mammoth, unbelievable game and we’d have all taken that at the beginning of the season.”

Yes, we certainly would have, Saturday promises to be a wonderful occasion, nerves will be on edge but all we can do is get behind the boys and hope things go our way.

Hi mh, As I mentioned in a previous post. We have become the Leeds of the championship. Now this is not a criticism of the staff. But have we been to hard on the players in training are we training in a different way that is causing so many injuries I am intreaged to know. Why this season has been so catastrophic with injuries I don’t think I can remember such a time in my watching the town with anything like it. It can’t be just bad luck there has to be a reason.

I know of similar thoughts being expressed recent pre and post match pub debates.

All I can hope is that the manager and backroom team do not let themselves put it down to just bad luck. Obviously you can’t mitigate for on field injuries resulting from the sort of challenges suffered by Bree for example. But the number of players suffering hamstring problems in training or indeed during warmup defies belief. Hopefully they will be asking themselves whether there is anything they should be doing to avoid this happening next season.

one mad theory, could it be because the pitches are so pristine? Muscles are not getting tested and toughened on uneven pitches we used to play on!

i think the team should be rotated more. look how many times ruddock played. give all the players a game, and chuck a few youngsters in the mix. hoping we have a clear out of players that are not doing it in the championship. we need strong determined players, that can repel the crazy tackling we have seen this year. i am sure this has contributed to our injuries. can isted play against reading, i think we need him. enjoy the ride whatever happens.COYH.
