Luton – Kenilworth Road Wins Comfortably

This time last week, I received a request to run a poll from a valued Vital Luton Town reader.

With, after many decades of waiting, a new dawn almost upon us with the club set to move lock, stock, and barrel to a brand-new stadium at Power Court, our reader wanted a response to an intriguing question.

When Power Court is ready, our reader wanted to know if you could have just one ticket, either for the last game at Kenilworth Road or the first game at Power Court, which would you choose!

Ahead of the poll being posted, I admit I did not have a clue what the preference would be.

But it seems those who voted were under no illusions as to what their preference would be with 73% opting to take a ticket for the last ever game at Kenilworth Road whereas only 27% opted for a ticket for the first game at Power Court.

A clear result I would say.

Although perhaps opinions could be swayed if the names of our potential opponents for both occasions was known.

When the day comes to bid farewell to Kenilworth Road, it will be an emotional day.

All of us have our own thoughts on the quaint old ground and I am sure everything has a favourite memory (more of that another time).

What becomes of the site remains to be seen but knowing the way the council currently operates, my money is it being turned into flats, flats, and more flats!
