Ex-Luton Boss Gets Plumb New Job

It has been, so far, a very strange week when it comes to the managerial circus.

Just days after Luton Town were knocked out of the FA Cup, by Chelsea, news emerged from Stamford Bridge that Frank Lampard had been axed.

Obviously, the Chelsea hierarchy were not impressed with the victory and decided enough was enough.

Elsewhere, and probably of more interest to the Hatters support, news broke that our former boss, Graeme Jones, had been appointed to the backroom staff at Premier League, Newcastle United.

Jones, who was axed by the Hatters back in April 2020, a move that was greeted with deep joy by most of the Luton support, had been working for AFC Bournemouth, down to the south coast.

To me, moving to Newcastle seems a strange decision.

Although a boyhood fan of the north-east club, their plunge down the Premier League, towards the relegation places is alarming.

Such a descent, down the table, does not bode well and if it continues, it will not surprise me if Steve Bruce was axed in a desperate bid to retain their Premier League status.

Now if that were to be the case then Bruce going would probably see his backroom team axed as well.

Which begs me to ask the question, has Bruce brought in Jones to assist in a relegation fight and if so, do you, the Vital Luton Town readership, believe he can satisfy that demand?

I would be interested to see what you have to say about the latest appointment our former gaffer has secured for himself.
