Disappointing News For Luton Defender

This time last week, it looked very much as if the Hatters defender, Brendan Galloway, was set to become a Shrewsbury Town player.

Our article – luton-defender-set-to-leave-the-club – covered Shrewsbury’s interest and it looked as if the 24-year-old, who has struggled to make an impact, would be signing for the League One club to revitalise his career.

Sadly, it appears it was fated not to happen.

News broke yesterday that the deal had been called off with The Shropshire Star reporting that Galloway had failed the medical.

Our source does not give an exact reason but merely explains that the Shrewsbury club doctor advised the club against signing the player due to his long run of injuries.

For Galloway, the disappointment must be immense, the chance to kick-start his career has been snatched away.

Quite what the future holds for the player remains to be seen.

Is there another club out there willing to take a gamble on his fitness record or will he stay at Kenilworth Road and push his claims for a regular spot in Nathan Jones starting eleven?

I guess only time will tell.
