With the squad reshuffle having been announced and as covered by Vital Luton Town, Click Here, Nathan Jones clearly feels there is a need to bring in a defender that he knows can operate in League One.

To that effect, the Hatters, according to Football League World, are being linked with a defender who is currently on the books of our fellow League One side, Plymouth Argyle, with the player in question being Sonny Bradley.

Bradley, 26-years-of-age, made 44 appearances for Plymouth last season and has yet to decide whether to put pen-to-paper on a new deal.

Earlier in his career, Bradley has played for Crawley Town, Portsmouth and Hull City and the inference is given by our source that the Hatters had a £250,000 bid rejected for the player last summer.

However, it should be pointed out that the Hatters are not the only club to be linked with the acquisition of the player with the Scottish duo of Rangers and Hearts being mentioned as possible destinations.

Our view is that, although Nathan Jones has spoken about the current squad being good enough for League One, the addition of a defender who was a key part of Plymouth’s unsuccessful push for promotion, would be the kind of signing needed to give Luton the added strength in depth if the club is serious about pushing for a place in the Championship.

But, whether the Hatters are successful in their quest to sign Sonny Bradley remains to be seen.

Here at Vital Luton we’ll keep a watchful eye open for any further developments and report back as deemed appropriate.
