Tonight, could be the night, but would it all be a bit of an anti-climax?
If Exeter City fail to beat Chesterfield tonight, at St James Park, then Luton Town will be promoted to League One.
But would it be preferable if Exeter were to win tonight and Luton were to, this weekend, travel to Carlisle to get the two points needed to ensure League One football is played at Kenilworth Road next season?
Those who have already snapped up the 900 tickets made available for the tip might think so as will the 490 who are expected to snap up the extra tickets that will be made available by Carlisle.
But, that won’t stop the Hatters support gathering at Kenilworth Road this evening to watch a live feed of the game.
As for Nathan James, the gaffer is also a little perplexed by the situation, remarking to the media about the current scenario,
“It would be nice if it happens on Tuesday but it might not.”
