Tuesday night could see the Hatters clinch promotion to League One without playing.

Although the preferred plan would be to see Luton win at Carlisle, on Saturday, thereby making sure of promotion, we’d not complain too much if it were to happen on Tuesday evening would we!

However, the form books suggest that it is very unlikely to happen.

For the Hatters to be promoted, promotion-chasing Exeter City would have to lose at home to bottom-of-the-table Chesterfield something we here at Vital Luton Town cannot see happening.

Talking about promotion, the scorer of the Hatters wonder-goal, on Saturday, against Crewe, Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu, had this to say to the media,

“The boys will get together and see what happens.

“We’re not really too bothered – if it doesn’t work out we’ll go again at Carlisle on Saturday.

“The title is still up for grabs, so we’ve got to keep pushing.”

It’s all getting very exciting isn’t it!
