After ten games without a win, the pressure on the Hatters to grab the three points on offer yesterday was immense.
The season is fast coming to a close and we cannot live on the suggestion that there is still time to escape the clutches of relegation much longer, we just had to start picking up points again.
At Kenilworth Road, with Rob Edwards fielding a side severely hit by injuries, we saw an open game that flowed from end to end with chances being created by both sides and with the woodwork being hit several times.
Although the Hatters had started well, AFC Bournemouth started to pick up the pace, testing the home defence and looking the more likely to score and that is what they did early in the second half through Tavernier, who drilled a low shot past Kiminsky in the Luton Town goal.
It could have been the signal for Luton heads to drop, especially with AFC Bournemouth being in such fine form, having won four out of their last five games, but the Hatters showed the resilience that could mean they secure that second season in the Premier League thereby defying the critics.
Pushing forward, Jordan Clark, with a decent finish, leveled the game up and with eighty-minutes and a few seconds showing on the clock, Carlton Morris was rewarded for the magnificent shift he put in, when he snatched the winner.
Kenilworth Road erupted, the old ground shook as we knew that crucial win was ours if we could hold on for the six minutes of stoppage time declared.
Thankfully we did and the sight of Rob Edwards pumping the air in delight was a sight to behold, as were the celebrations carried out by the players who simply refuse to let this club slip back into the EFL Championship.
Elsewhere, as the relegation battle looks set to go right to the final day of the season, Everton ended their twelve game run without a win by beating Burnley, with the Lancashire club now looking doomed to make a swift return from whence they came.
As for the Hatters, they still sit in the bottom three but only on goal difference and with Nottingham Forest set to take on Tottenham Hotspur, in North London, we’re all hoping the N17 based club can not only win but beat Forest significantly and reduce that goal difference of six that they currently hold over us.

Morning mh, great result yesterday.But it’s my belief to be certain of avoiding relegation we must win 4 games of those left.Otherwise we will be left in the hands of outside influences and I have no faith in those to do the right thing!!! So really it’s up to us to stick together and do the impossible and defy the authority.
4 wins? Methinks they must be Everton, West Ham, Fulham and Brentford
I see David Moss went up to Blackburn for the fourth time last week to watch Sammy smodics again. I have been a fan of his for years and whilst I reckon he would be a good addition for us to my mind 2 defensive midfield players are needed to help and cover for marvellous next year as we are unlikely to get or afford longi I don’t see him dropping wages or willing to drop a div if we get relegated.Our best performance of the season and best run are when we have a defensive midfield player.
