Luton Town Support Split On Season Outcome

Earlier this week, and before I departed for a short break in Amsterdam, I chose to post an interesting poll.

The poll, with the Hatters hampered by a lengthening injury list and unable to pick up a win since late January, simply asked:

With 8 Games To Go Will Luton Escape Relegation?

I gave 3 possible options for you to choose from:

YES
NO
I CAN’T DECIDE

Since posting the poll, the 8 games has now been reduced to 7, after an injury hit Luton Town side slipped to a 2-0 defeat away to Arsenal on Wednesday evening, a game I managed to catch in an Irish bar adjacent to a canal in Amsterdam.

The results, with games to come against:

• AFC Bournemouth (h)
• Manchester City (a)
• Brentford (h)
• Wolverhampton Wanderers (a)
• Everton (h)
• West Ham United (a)
• Fulham (h)

certainly proved to be interesting reading with, at the time of the poll closure, 44% of those that voted choosing the YES option, clearly believing their team is up for this monumental challenge.

However, 40% went for the NO option, probably thinking we’ve left ourselves, especially with our injury situation, too much to do.

As for the remaining 16%, they went for the I CAN’T DECIDE option clearly somewhat bewildered by the twists and turns we’ve experienced in what has been our inaugural season in the Premier League.

As for me, I reckon we can stay up but we have to beat AFC Bournemouth in our next fixture, otherwise that belief will waiver significantly.
