Luton Town – A Bit Of Skulduggery Going On

The inference, earlier this week, was that the Hatters were set to make a double swoop on the League One side, Reading.

As covered in our article – defensive-duo-interesting-the-hatters – it seemed odds-on that Luton Town were going to sign the defensive duo Tom Holmes and Nelson Abbey.

A deal to sign Tom Holmes was, subsequently, concluded – first-signing-of-the-transfer-window-is-confirmed – and it seemed to be only a matter of time that a deal for Nelson Abbey would be concluded with the player having spoken to the club and taken steps down the line to become a Hatter.

But it is a move that never got concluded with it being announced yesterday by Football League World, that Abbey has declined a move to the Premier League with Luton Town and is set to sign for the Greek club Olympiacos.

Now I may be well off the mark, or I may be spot on, but like others I’m a little suspicious that this possible move is a precursor for the player to join Nottingham Forest once their financial fair play (FFP) irregularities have been dealt with, after all both Olympiacos and Nottingham Forest are owned by the same person, Evangelos Marinakis.

Have I hit the nail on the head or am I just being overly suspicious?

I’d be interested to read your views on this subject matter in the comment facility beneath this article.
