With the transfer window, of the January variety open, we still await news of any incoming purchases.

So far, all that there has been to report has been the return of several players who have been recalled from loan spells early.

However, there does appear to be some possible activity when it comes to incoming players if the good folk of Football League World.

If they have their facts correct, it would appear that the Hatters could well be set to raid the EFL Championship for a couple of youngsters.

Seemingly, Luton Town have their eyes on the Reading pair of Tom Holmes and Nelson Abbey.

Both Holmes and Abbey are graduates of the Reading Academy, with defender Holmes, 23-years-of-age, having made 115 league appearances for the club, whereas 20-year-old Abbey, also a defender, has made 18 league appearances for the Berkshire based club.

It seems that with both youngsters having come through the Academy, the fees payable for their services could be minimal, and with Reading struggling financially, a sale could be forthcoming.

But, our referenced source also points out that in order to seal a sale, the Hatters may be prepared to let the duo remain at Reading, on-loan, for the remainder of the season.

To me, it looks as if the recruitment of this duo could well be for the future as opposed to the present.
