Luton - They Played For Both – Southampton

Purely as something that could be classed as pre-match entertainment, as we await kick-off at Bramall Lane, here’s another totally random – They Played for Both.

After covering Portsmouth, last time out – they-played-for-both-portsmouth – I thought I would remain on the south coast and put together an XI that contains players who have played for their local rivals, Southampton.

The XI fell quite easily into place, the only research I had to do was to fill a hole in the defence.

Up front, the trio selected would be a handful for any defence.

Eventually, I stuck with the following XI:

Goalkeeper – Kelvin Davis

Defender – Jimmy Allen
Defender – Martin Cranie
Defender – Chris Nicholl
Defender – Steve Davis

Midfielder – Steve Williams
Midfielder – Paul Telfer
Midfielder – Paul Allen

Forward – Ron Davies
Forward – Iain Dowie
Forward – Kerry Dixon
