The days of huddling around a transistor radio, to listen to the FA Cup draw, have long gone.

Instead, there is a more commercial air to the draw with it being held live on the television.

Although the FA Cup may have lost some of its magic, it is, for me, still common practise to make sure I see the draw.

Last night, with the draw taking place on BBC2, I inevitably tuned in and I have already offered a few of my thoughts on the hatters getting a plum tie, away to Chelsea – luton-town-you-just-knew-something-like-that-would-happen.

But what were the feelings of the Hatters faithful who, these days, can air their opinions via social media?

Well, it seems they were just as disappointed as me, as the following posts illustrate:

And another summed it up in a far more dramatic fashion, emphasising the point I made in my referenced article:

The draw also pits the two sides against each other, in the FA Cup, for the first time since our paths crossed in the 1994 semi-final, at Wembley, a game the Hatters lost, prompting the remark:

But, like I also mentioned in my article, it is a tie Luton can win, a view shared by this post:

However, is that a view you share?

FA Cup - Chelsea v Luton Town?

Chelsea to Win!

Chelsea to Win!

Luton Town to Win!

Luton Town to Win!

Please feel free to air your views on what should be a cracking tie in the comment facility beneath this article.

Hi mh, you know nj will play his best team against them. But from a personal point of view I would play the likes of isted Galloway osho kioso Morrell Clark lua lua cornick. As I can’t get excited by the fa cup. I only care about staying in the championship as we will. That should be our only priority

Hi mh, so Davies is off an looks like he’s going to Stoke. I’m gutted but maybe that’s why kioso is back of so hope he gets his chance

  • Alan says:

Hi all, that certainly explains kioso coming back….with regard to the cup, I get what Chris is saying, but we get 90 grand if we can turn Chelsea over so it’s not entirely a pointless exercise…..

Hi Alan, I admit that did not even cross my mind. Lol so I suppose something good could come of it

  • Alan says:
