Luton – Striker Linked To Move Nonsense

A blank weekend, courtesy of the Reading fixture being postponed, left me somewhat baffled as to how to pass the time yesterday!

With so little action it felt like the close season had come early, even Sky Sports Soccer Saturday were forced to cover fixtures they would not usually touch with a barge pole.

Sadly, with so little action taking place, there is very little news to report upon.

However, one rumour, as covered by several news sites, including the wonderfully named Geordie Boot Boys, seems to be of the belief that, as I feared several weeks ago – striker-will-soon-become-a-wanted-man – that our top-scorer, Elijah Adebayo, could be a transfer target this January.

But should we get all concerned about Newcastle being his next destination?

I’m certainly not losing any sleep over the rumour, after all we’re talking about (supposedly) the richest club in the world following their takeover earlier this season.

Surely, with the club submerged in a relegation battle, their support will be looking for a couple of big-name signings this January, to boost their chances of survival, as opposed to a striker who is still learning his trade and has never experienced Premier League football?

Please assure me I’ve gauged this one correctly or have I read the situation all wrong?

It could happen. If luton would like cash to purchase kdh and pay his wages. And also buy dembele from posh. I would expect 15 million minimum. Plus a 15% sell on .

Hi mh, it’s all rubbish Newcastle need is now not the future. This won’t happen more likely it was mitrovic they looked at but he’s already been tested at prm level an failed. I would say that man utds martial loan looks more likely to happen than any other an more loans till the end of the season. An they know what div they are in.

don’t forget this is a business. nobody wants to lose there best players, but players have to be sold. i hope elijah stays for a couple of seasons, but we have plenty of players clubs will be looking at. lets hope for some football to be played. stay safe. COYH.

I think you are right I don’t think Newcastle will be interested in a rookie striker with all there money
