Luton – A Decision Has Been Made

And, so it seems, things are about to change dramatically!

While the UK Government pontificates over whether the record number of COVID19 cases is no real cause for concern and that, aside from the recently introduced restrictions, life will continue as is for now, that is not the case elsewhere.

Over in Wales, the Welsh Government has acted far swifter and decreed that, from Boxing Day, all major sporting events will be played behind closed door which means the Hatters trip to Swansea, scheduled for Wednesday 29th December, will be played behind closed doors.

Now whether this will see Boris and his aides react similarly remains to be seen, or is he waiting for Nicola Sturgeon to force his hands with Scotland, possibly, following Wales?

That remains to be seen.

But, aside from the above, it does appear that despite rising COVID cases among clubs, the current plan, as dictated by the EFL, is that games will go ahead, as long as clubs have a certain number of outfield players fit, a move that is certain to generate debate.

Now whether that would be the same if the season was so truncated remains to be seen.

But one outcome of such a decision is that it could present the perfect opportunity for some of our youngsters, if the team is decimated, to grab an opportunity that might not have, previously, presented.

Every cloud has a silver lining, maybe?

Morning mh, so if everyone follows the Welsh decision. Yet again the football authorities will be able to sit on there arses an do nothing!!!! The problem of clubs not able to provide a first team for fixtures won’t just disappear until the authorities get off their arses an do something. I have no problem with behind closed doors games again I do with selfish clubs players an authorities failing yet again to act decisively!!!! /

Why are people in general not getting the jab anyway if it can help them fight COVID-19 , most of these 0layers must have young families so not to have the jab is madness to me . But all these games that have been called off as the can’t get a team together is sh– , look what happened to us earlier this season and we had so many players out with injuries we were not able to call off the games so why now is it happening now what is the squad and youth team for , look at Chelsea when they couldn’t buy new players the youth came on , arsenal the young players they are having coming on ( young lad from us last night scoring as well ) . Let the game carry on no matter what team you put out we are all in the same boat one way or another. Coyh
