Speculation continues to gather momentum when it comes to who will succeed Nathan Jones as the Luton Town boss.

Yesterday, we covered the possibility of Neil Critchley becoming the new gaffer, with the following article – critchley-linked-with-hatters-vacant-managerial-position

Today it is the turn of somebody who Luton Town fans will remember well.

According to the Scottish publication the Daily Record, the Hatters could be considering Stephen Robinson as, potentially, the next manager of the club.

Robinson, during the period 2002 to 2008, Robinson made 185 League appearances for Luton scoring on 8 occasions.

During his early managerial career, Robinson spent time coaching the various levels of the Northern Ireland side before moving into club management.

Currently, Robinson is in charge of the Scottish Premier League side, St Mirren, where he has guided the club to 8th place in the table but only 2 points adrift of 3rd place.

However, as well as being linked with the Luton job he is also, according to our source, being linked with the vacant Northern Ireland job.

Would, if he were to leave St Mirren, prefer a return to Luton where he spent 6 years or a return to coaching at a national level?

My only concern is that when it comes to English League football, Robinson’s career has been steady rather than spectacular.

But what are your feelings on Robinson succeeding Nathan Jones?

Please feel free to have your say in the comment facility beneath this article.
