With little happening on the summer transfer front, it’s time to continue with our summer series relating to the signings the club made around this time last year.

In this series we have so far covered six players, now it is time to cover the seventh signing of last summer, Henri Lansbury.

Like many others, Lansbury signed for Luton on 01-July-2021, on a free transfer, after his contract with Bristol City had expired.

Previously, in his career, Lansbury had enjoyed spells on the books of Arsenal, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa, to name but three.

In his first season with the Hatters, Lansbury made 18 Championship starts with a further 16 appearances from the bench.

He also made 1 appearance in the FA Cup and 1 appearance in the EFL cup for the Hatters.

But, throughout the 2021/2022 season, he failed to find the net.

On the disciplinary front, Lansbury picked up 11 yellow cards.

But, in your opinion, how do you think Lansbury fared in his first season at Kenilworth Road?

Henri Lansbury - First Season?

Top Notch!

Top Notch!

Good!

Good!

Average!

Average!

Poor!

Poor!

My view is that Lansbury brought an element of quality to the midfield and was, on occasions, able to supply the passes needed to open up defences. However, whenever he plays, I just get the impression that he is never too far from falling foul of the referee.

Nevertheless, when it came to selecting my Luton Town starting XI, I would select him alongside Allan Campbell as they seem to gel well together.

But that’s only my view, please feel free to have your say in the comment facility beneath this article.

I had very high hopes for lansbury having watched him as a youngster for arsenal many times. He should have had a great future instead he’s been average everywhere except forest. I thought nj would be able to sort him out and get him playing again sadly I was wrong he’s just to hot headed bookings galore an don’t even mention that incident at the free kick!!! Hope he goes before the season.

His inclusion in the starting 11 brings that much needed bite in midfield and so preventing us getting bullied by often physically stronger championship sides. With Campbell now the first name on any team sheet and Clark/Snodgrass bringing the creativity Lansbury makes it ahead of Pelly everytime.

Ac needs help in that area pelly does not do that job at all gets caught out too much, maybe with Gabriel osho fit he could play that defender midfielder so in that case Lansbury can go and get someone else in . Coyh
