This time next week, the summer transfer window will be slamming shut and all dealings, until January, will have been done.
For the Hatters it has been a productive period with Nathan Jones and his backroom team revamping the squad.
However, we should point out that, the gaffer, in the first week of August, teased us all about another possible signing – another-midfielder-is-wanted-by-the-luton-boss.
Since then, there has been nothing but speculation, unfortunately nothing concrete has occurred, there has been no press release confirming that a deal has been done.
With a week to go, I am beginning to wonder if any such deal will get over the line and whether we will have to make do with what we have.
In teasing us, Nathan expressed a desire to bring in another midfielder, on Saturday, as we were thrashed by Birmingham City, that was the area of our side that looked the weakest.
My question to you is:

It may be that nj has had to rethink the next signing. It may be he will have to sign a centre back on loan as well. If there is no sign of return of the others as well as another combative midfielder.
I thought Pelly was the signing, fooled again.
i think we have enough midfield players,and have got to get the right combination.what ever there illnesses are we must get the players fit. when the squad is fit,watch out championship. we have great players to call upon,we must be patient. nj won’t just sign anybody,it must be the right one, and we all know,they are hard to find.if covid is at the centre of our illnesses,lets hope its over soon. ruddock should not be in this team,i think more people are seeing his basic errors,time after time. you cannot build a midfield from him. he no longer has the skills he once had. also glad that morrell went to pompey,he’s not doing to well? lets try to pass the ball not launch it into no mans land. funny old game.COYH.
I agree with you about trying to pass the ball. I think the reason we hoof the ball from defence to attack is because we don’t have any creative midfielders, no one who can link the play between defence and attack. Pelly hasn’t started well, perhaps because he missed most of the preseason, but this long ball style won’t work at this level. Maybe bring in premier league starlet on loan?

West was class.I think he would wince at Pelly’s distribution. Think it’s going to be a long struggle this season. Would be overjoyed at finishing 20 th -or, dreaming, above. Saturday coming will tell me a lot.
Christ what is wrong with you lot….4 games in, 2 wins, 2 defeats ….defeatists all around….if its still like this 2months in and once we have a fully fit squad then worry……get a grip.

Alan, I was being lighthearted with my team an try to bring a laugh to the posters. Seems like humour is in short supply at the moment. But we will still have a successful season.
