Luton Fans Critical Of Performance Against Bristol City

Last night, I was lost for words, how do you describe a performance as lacklustre as the Hatters provided against Bristol City.

Four games into the Championship season and we’ve yet to register a win, we’ve accumulated 2 points out of a possible 12 and, shockingly, managed to score just the 1 goal.

We sit in 23rd position in the able with only Coventry below us, a club who have 2 games in hand over us due to pitch problems.

Our next 2 fixtures are both difficult looking with Luton visiting Swansea City, on Saturday, and welcoming Sheffield United the following weekend.

Would you bank on Luton, the way they are performing, to get anything from those games?

Naturally, the social media sites were active last night and there is a mood of discontent in the air, as the following posts show:

That last one sums it up perfectly, I guess things can only get better!

I am surprised mh, I expected the doom merchants to be screaming by now. Maybe we are all in shock. I still think that the problem is in the dressing room is my opinion.

There’s a lot of chat about dressing room. Some of my mates are saying same. But they can’t explain the evidence they have. None of us are in that room though. I’d be surprised if it was rosey. They’ve lost 3 in a week. Winners don’t like losing. But I’d also be surprised if it was toxic so soon into the season.

The performances the last week have been crap. But the opening 2 were decent enough. Ok, we didn’t get any wins, but we drew at Burnley and didn’t get humped 5-0 by Brum.

I don’t like the way we’ve played the last week. It’s too slow in the passing and in the pace of running. I think we have some players out of form who should be dropped (Bell all day in particular is one peeve I have at the moment). And we might have been found out by teams based on them seeing how we achieved success last year. But it’s 4 games in and none of us know more about the team and squad than Jones and his direct staff. We’re in the championship. We’re going to have periods where we don’t win a lot. It happened last season (we were 17th at Xmas I think and would have been bottom half even if we had no games in hand).

Let’s just let them get on with it. Panic if we’re in the relegation zone in late March. But obviously don’t worry about needing to enjoy it. If it’s shit, call it shit.

It may not be toxic Jim. But with 9 new players in. The old togetherness may have been lost as I’ve said with 3 big carecters gone. It may take time to get it back

Tuesdays performance was painful to watch as we played to the level of Conference side.
NJ admits he played the wrong side which doesn’t help as we all struggle to understand what’s gone wrong but here’s a parallel for you.
Barnsley got the play offs the season before last and in an attempt to challenge again they brought in a collection of new players they felt would help them to be better. Far from getting better they got relegated and the view of my nephew a die hard Barnsley supporter he is of the opinion that the unity and belief of the squad was totally disrupted. I’m not for one moment suggesting that is what has happened at Kenilworth Rd but just throwing my hat in the ring as to a possible reason ⚽️

NJ needs to put a rocket up the player’s you know what no excuses for lack off commitment and effort NONE
