Luton Support Have Their Say On Carlos Mendes Gomes Loan Move Decision

I have this gut feeling that the Hatters may be sending one or two more fringe players out on loan before the transfer window closes.

Yesterday, as we contemplated the Bristol City fixture, news broke – luton-let-out-of-favour-player-go-out-on-loan – that Carlos Mendes Gomes had been sent out on loan, for the remainder of the season.

I’m not sure it is a decision that surprised me, more of one that disappointed me.

Studying social media, the Hatters support are not short when it comes to wishing Carlos all the best:

Regular first team action is, I agree, something that can only benefit Carlos, but other posters touched on a more significant point:

Even more so after his stunning strike against Newport County, in the Carabao Cup.

But I’ll leave you with one comment that really strikes a chord:

Can anyone offer up a name or two?

Morning mh, so while I know exactly what we are going to hear about last night. Here’s a thought about what’s going on. An this is not a dig at nj. Last season all we heard was the dressing room was an all for one an one for all a united team. In the summer we lose 3 hugely respected players an charechters. Then import 9 new players. Have we Lost the togetherness we had. I think so do we now have a couple of Morrell types in there. Has adebayo been got at an had his head turned by his agent as suggested by Alan. If so nj has got a huge problem on his hands. Also not being the messiah just a very naughty boy. He’s tactical nievety is beginning to worry me. The cabin boy is not doing it he’s not championship material. Yet gomes who maybe is loaned out while nj says we have injury problems. For me that doesn’t make sense. Perriera is injured I assume but will he get his chance when fit. But the immediate problem is surely the dressing room an what has happened to the togetherness.

Hi CW, I mentioned this in the Pelly vote after already losing Naismith.
Still early doors and hoping that the team so gel and not losing hope, but last night was the most naive disjointed display since we entered the Championship.
NJ read off his statutory list of players not called Pereira so guess we just wait to see him head out now and say goodbye… Shame

Hi Steve, I believe perriera has a slight injury. So wasn’t risked.. I remember what you said. But I think this is deeper than just needing to gel. It’s my belief that the dressing room is no longer together.

EFL world confirmed injured, I meant NJ will not say his name in any interview and so obviously is a long way from his thoughts.
And agree CW, looks more than a settling issue, just hope NJ doesn’t have a Stoke sized issue with ego’s, although I remain hopeful it’s not too bad as all new boys spoke of the humble atmosphere after arriving… Will see I suppose.

Hi MH What is disappointing evening. Bell and Bree were very poor with Bell particularly so. So what cover have we for these so called attacking wing backs. One is injured and the other now sold. Why is Potts always the fall guy and first to go when things are going wrong. There were others that needed to be replaced long before him One can now see why Barnsley were relegated if their players played as poorly as Woodrow and Morris did last night . Adebayo seems to lost the skill of heading on target perhaps he is missing Mickey Harford’s influence and guidance. How come we have so many corners yet fail to convert them into goals? Is it just me or does the lack of scoring come from poor coaching since Cohen’s role was changed. Why does NJ rate Clark so highly when his lack of scoring was emphasised last night when he missed a good scoring chance?

As others have said the dressing room atmosphere needs to improve quickly as does the ability to score goals or else we will continue to flounder in this division.

    PLEASE! PLEASE! COYH
