Clinical finishing is what sets apart good sides and classy sides and that proved to be the case on Friday night.

Despite a decent performance, Luton couldn’t take the chances that fell their way and suffered a 2-0 defeat courtesy of two clinical strikes Queens Perk Rangers had, incidentally, their only two shots on target throughout the 90 minutes.

In comparison, the Hatters had four on target but failed to ripple the net.

With the defeat making it two on the bounce and with a difficult looking trip to take on Nottingham Forest, on Tuesday evening, the pressure is starting to mount on the gaffer.

Instead of hitting the heights of the play-off zone, another couple of defeats could see us all nervously looking over our shoulders at the drop zone.

But personally, I believe we are far better than we are currently showing, and relegation will not be the end result this season, far from it.

However, I can understand Nathan’s frustrations when, in his post-match interview, and as reported by The BBC, remarked:

“We have to show more quality. They’ve had two opportunities and won the game – that’s just clinical, that’s the way it is.

“I thought we were excellent at times, first half, I thought we were brilliant.

“We’ve had real good opportunities tonight – it’s not like they’ve been half-chances, and I think if the shoe had been on the other foot they would’ve scored far more and that’s the frustrating thing.”

Indeed, it is.

Let’s just put this one behind us and focus on the Tuesday night trip to take on Nottingham Forest, at the City Ground.
