As the season heads towards what could, for Luton Town supporters, be a fantastic conclusion, each game is starting to resemble a cup final.

Any points dropped, between now and the end of the season, could have ramifications for any of the raft of clubs still hoping that Premier League football could be there for the taking.

This weekend, the Hatters welcome Queens Park Rangers to Kenilworth Road, a game that could, if the Hatters win, see them cement their place in the Championship top six.

Already, in the build-up to the game, we’ve looked at the season Queens Park Rangers are having – focussing-on-the-opposition-queens-park-rangers – in this article, I thought we’d look at 3 players Luton Town need to be aware of if victory is to be ours.

The first is Ilias Chair, a Moroccan international, who joined the club back in January 2017. Although he struggled to make an impact early on, spending time on loan at Stevenage, Chair is now producing enough quality performances to attract the attention of the Premier League clubs.

Chair has netted 8 times in 32 appearances this season, but although a steady goalscorer, it is his ability to provide chances that his game is based on. Pacy and with quick feet, Luton will have to stop the supply of the ball to him, otherwise he could cause trouble running at our defence.

The second is Stefan Johansen, like Chair the Norwegian international will be a threat from midfield. Now 31-years-of-age, Johansen joined QPR from another London club, Fulham, after a spell on loan. This season, the experienced international has made 31 appearances this season and scored just a solitary goal, but his game is more about controlling the midfield and using his ability to bring others into the action while providing chances for the forwards.

The third is Lyndon Dykes, a striker who with 9 goals is the clubs top scorer. Although a Scottish international, Dykes was born in Queensland, Australia and signed for QPR, from Livingstone, back in 2019. At 6 feet 2 inches tall, his physical presence, especially from set-pieces, will be a threat Luton will have to quash.
