When it comes to discussing the fortunes of Nottingham Forest, the date of 22-September-2021, is a date firmly etched in the memories of their supporters.

That was the day that Forest persuaded Steve Cooper to take over the managerial hot seat.

Since Cooper’s appointment, Forest have gone from a struggling side to a side bursting with confidence, belief and attacking intent.

As a result, they arrive at Kenilworth Road, on Good Friday, having not lost a Championship game since they were beaten 2-1, by Cardiff City, back on 30th January.

Ahead of what could be a crucial fixture for both Nottingham Forest and Luton, here at Vital Luton Town I thought I’d take a quick look at 3 of the outstanding performers in this talented Forest side.

First up is Brennan Johnson, a 20-year-old winger who has risen through the ranks at the club. This season Johnson has scored 14 goals in 38 Championship performances. However, he is not just a goals scorer, his talents, particularly his speed and ball control, have seen him create numerous assists for his teammates. If Forest fail to get promoted this season, it is expected that a Premier League club will snap up this prestigious talent in the summer.

Second up is Keinan Davis a powerful centre forward. Born just down the road from us, in Stevenage, Davis is on loan from the Premier League side Aston Villa. This season, he has netted 5 goals in 18 Championship performances, but it is ability to hold up the ball and bring others into the game that has proven to be his biggest asset. At 24-years-of-age, it remains to be seen whether his long-term future is with Forest or whether he will return to Aston Villa.

Third up is another player on loan at the club, Djed Spence. On loan from another Championship side, Middlesbrough, Spence is an attacking full-back who combines well, down the flank with the attacking players. He may have only scored 3 Championship goals this season but his foraging down the flanks, allied with his pace, will mean Luton will have to play close attention to him. Like with Davis, it remains to be seen whether Forest can hold onto this 21-year-old come the end of his loan spell with the club.
