It was something of a sombre atmosphere in the pub last night.
A combination of being expected to be booted out before the 22:00 pandemic driven deadline and reflecting on a home defeat, for the Hatters, inflicted by Stoke City.
It was one of those games that, hours after, you are still trying to work out how Luton Town did not at least get a share of the points.
Ahead of the game I was confident Nathan Jones would get one over on his former club, perhaps in my eagerness to see the Hatters do well I had conveniently ignored the fact that Stoke were unbeaten away from home and had not even conceded a goal, on the road, this season.
But it would appear I am not the only one who struggled to comprehend what I had witnessed with several posts on social media emphasising my point:
Just one of those days, happens, move on, no criticism

Two errors cost us. Easily the better side on the balance of play

How on earth can Luton Town dominate so much and lose! So frustrating. 16 corners! Credit Stoke for taking their chances. Classic smash and grab!

I am not sure that was the case, but it is probably fair to say that on other days Luton will not play as well as this and will still emerge victors.
Hopefully, Tuesday will provide redemption when we make the trip to South London to take on Millwall.
One of them days 🤷♂
