After 3 wins in the last 4 fixtures, hopes were high that the Hatters would get the better of Stoke City this afternoon and take an emphatic step to securing their Championship status.
With a visit to Wigan next weekend, another side fighting against the dreaded drop, the expectations were that two wins in the next two games would do an awful lot to ease our relegation fears.
Unfortunately, the Hatters couldn’t reach the highs of Tuesday night, against promotion-chasing Brentford, and had to settle for a point courtesy of a last-gasp penalty which James Collins expertly converted.
Naturally, social media is alive with the thoughts of the Hatters faithful with the consensus being, as the points below illustrate, the support were grateful for a point but wanted more:
Well, rescued a point, but not good enough by far. We go to Wigan next week – they’ve just won at WBA. ,

Unfortunately that’s not enough. Make or break at Wigan now.

As the comment in the middle suggests, it really has cranked the pressure up with regards to the Hatters getting a result away to Wigan.
However, Wigan showed today that they have no intentions of dropping into League One with a fine victory, at the Hawthorns, against table-topping West Bromwich Albion, with the following social media post illustrating perfectly the task that awaits us:
Wigan are on fire 🔥🔥

But whilst it is mathematically possible to stay up we have to keep the faith.
