The Hatters last five games have when it comes to our hopes of retaining our Championship status for at least another season, seen the side get some promising results.

Those five games have seen Luton win 3, draw 1 and lose 1, amassing 10 points from the last 15 available.

If the Hatters can retain that kind of form, as the season reaches its latter stages, Luton Town may well surprise a few people and stay up.

Ahead of the most recent game, against Stoke City, we revisited a question we’d asked previously, but in another guise.

Our poll question was as thus:

AFTER 3 WINS IN THE LAST 4 GAMES WE ASK THE QUESTION AGAIN – CAN GRAEME JONES KEEP LUTON IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP THIS SEASON?

The results were as positive as the growing vibe that Luton can stay up with 58% going for the YES option, 32% going for the NO option and the remaining 10% opting to sit on the fence and opt for the UNDECIDED choice.

Now, it’d be churlish not to go with the majority but, despite the recent run of form, I’m not convinced Graeme Jones is the man for the Hatters hot seat on a long-term basis.

Feel free to have your say on the subject matter in the comment facility beneath this article.

Hi mh, I won’t go over old ground. We both know our feelings on this season. But I think Saturdays game will be the defining game of the season. We must win it. With the games to follow I don’t think we can get many points sadly Wigan are in decent form an it will be tough. I wish I could be as confident as the voting suggests but fear it’s to little to late. An the 15 points thrown away at the start of the season has cost us

Hi all…dont think gj & co can or deserve to keep us up, but the recent improvement from the players could and deserve another crack in this league…saturday is massive, but i still feel the remaining home games are all winnable…left back is gonna be a problem again tho, by the sound of it..

Hi all, I agree that GJ isn’t the man for the job but feel it’s 50/50 whether we go down now. I feel there is a air of optimism as the players are displaying a lot more fight but GJ persists in ommiting Danny Hylton from any decent playing time therefore restricting possible extra firepower in the final games. His lack of use of the whole of the squad available has been at best pitiful. But I feel a new found confidence has given us a glimmer so let’s see where this
