Harry Houdini Would Have Been Proud Of Hatters Turnaround On Saturday

|

This time last week I was still suffering after the horror of seeing the Hatters smashed 7-0 by Brentford, an experience many of us will never forget.

But, on Saturday afternoon, the Hatters pulled off something akin to a Houdini miracle when facing defeat and trailing Wigan Athletic 1-0, they contrived to score two late goals, the second deep into stoppage time, to emerge 2-1 victors.

The win gave the Hatters three much needed points and lifted the up the Championship table into 20th place, still not away from the danger zone but, importantly, on the cusp of climbing a few more places, in the table, if they can get another win.

Naturally, it was a delighted support that made their way out of the ground with Graeme Jones, equally delighted, being quoted by The BBC as having remarked about the win:

“You earn the right to stay in the league on moments like today.”

Maybe, but I can’t help thinking Lady Luck was on our side on Saturday, even more so with it, being George Moncur, a player who hasn’t been used as much as he should have been by Jones, becoming our saviour.

There’s still along way to go as the Hatters battle away to ensure they remain in the Championship and there’ll be more dramatic moments like Saturday as the season ebbs and flows, you mark my words!

Should Jones Play George Moncur More Often?

Yes!

No!
