Wigan (H) – A Day Of Reckoning For Luton Town Football Club

|

This Saturday, the Hatters welcome Wigan Athletic, to Kenilworth Road, for a Championship fixture.

For Luton supporters, I doubt whether there has been a more significant or important fixture, in the Championship, this season.

The Hatters, under the stewardship of Graeme Jones, are on an awful run of form with the last 7 games seeing the Hatters win just the one.

But, more importantly, the Hatters return to action after a 7-0 mauling away to Brentford, last time out, a result that saw many supporters believing the end was nigh as far as the tenure of Graeme Jones, as the Luton manager, was concerned.

However, one week on, Jones is still in the chair but anything other than a win, against Wigan, will see the clamour for Jones to be axed to be increased.

Wigan sit just one place below Luton in the Championship table, from the same number of games they have accumulated one less point.

To be brutally honest, if Jones cannot engineer a victory from this game then, I fear, relegation will be on the cards for a side that has looked disjointed and vulnerable since Jones took over.

Saturday is the time for brave hearts to take to the pitch, a time for players to step up to the mark and fight for what is rapidly becoming a relegation battle.

But the big question is whether, under Graeme Jones, they are capable of just that!

Your views on the subject matter, in our comment facility, would be most welcome.
