Luton Town’s slump continues at an alarming rate.

The latest disaster saw the Hatters trounced by Millwall as our embarrassing run of away games, in the Championship, stretched to an alarming nine.

Sat at the foot of the Championship table and well and truly in the race for relegation, the Hatters manager, Graeme Jones, had some interesting words to say following the latest defeat.

Jones, as reported by The BBC remarked:

“And that is just the definition of where we are at the minute. We need to have a level head, be sensible, get our best players fit, and we need to get some reinforcements in.”

Today, speculation has emerged as to just who one of those reinforcements might be.

According to Football Addict, the Hatters are looking to bring 26-year-old Ben Heneghan to the club.

Heneghan is currently on the books of the Premier League side, Sheffield United, but is currently on the loan at Blackpool.

His parent club are looking to sell the player before his contract runs out at the end of the season and he becomes a free agent.

However, Luton are not the only club interested in the player who has made 19 starts this season for Blackpool with our referenced source implying Wigan Athletic and Blackburn Rovers are also interested.

Looking at the Hatters perilous position, in the table, I’d suggest it’s going to take a huge amount of sweet-talking to persuade Heneghan to come to Kenilworth Road.
