The New Year has started the way the Old Year ended, with the Hatters reflecting on another painful defeat.
The Hatters have played 26 games of the 46-game season and have accumulated a miserly 21 points, less than a point a game.
There’s no beating about the bush, on current form, form that has seen the Hatters lose 9 away games on the bounce, Luton are destined to suffer relegation back to League One after the elation of back-to-back promotion campaigns left us all dreaming of a march towards the Premier League.
The January transfer window is open, crucial decisions have to be made.
Somehow, the club has to bring the right players to the club, we cannot afford, as we did in the summer, to bring in a clutch of players who, to put it mildly, have not all been up to the task.
But we know how prudent the Hatters have to be with their cash, we accept they cannot spend profusely for fear of entering the dark old days we experienced in the past.
