Winger Linked With Deadline Day Move To Luton Town

|

With the January transfer window set to slam shut, on Monday evening, those last-minute deals are, we believe, being negotiated across the EFL.

But, although previously, we ran an article suggesting that the young Newcastle United midfielder, Elliott Anderson, could well be joining Luton on loan – yet-more-transfer-deadline-day-vibes/ – could there be further inbound deals?

We, perhaps there may be with one source – The Football League World – today running an article that suggests Luton Town are amongst a trio of clubs interested in signing the Lewes winger, Ollie Tanner.

Tanner, just 19-years-of-age, has produced some decent performances for the non-league side and was linked with a move to Tottenham last week.

However, our source points out that he couldn’t agree terms with the Premier League side and the deal has fallen through.

As a result, it appears Luton, Cardiff City and Southampton are now looking at doing a deal for Tanner.

But how concrete, as far as this rumour goes, is Luton’s interest?

Personally, I’d be very surprised if the deal were to go through considering that a move to Spurs fell through due to financial disagreements.

Also, with no Football League experience to his name, would he be able to force his way into the Luton team or would he, like Elliot Thorpe, have to bide his time while the likes of Onyedimna, Clark and Mendes Gomes, seemingly, ahead of him in the pecking order?

But the possible move does remain a debatable subject, if Nathan Jones is seriously interested in Tanner, could he use his persuasive tongue to convince him he would, in time, prosper at Kenilworth Road?

My gut feeling is that this is a deal that will not happen, but I could be wrong, but I would be interested to read your views on the subject matter.

would rather give pereira a chance. as alan suggested, when we have enough points to be safe, lets give the younger players a chance. don’t want to lose them to other teams. we have some older players that will need replacing sooner than later. don’t like loans, its rent a player. not good value. i have watched twine a few times, and i thought kioso had a bigger impact on the game. if he wants to play for luton, i think kioso is the better option.COYH.
